KITCHEN REMODELING NEAR ME
Kitchen remodeling is one of the larger investments you can make in your home, but it’s also one that can transform it into an area that brings decades of enjoyment to your family. It’s important to take your time and really plan out your kitchen before you ever even get started with any construction. We’ve helped plenty of homeowners transform their kitchen, and along the way we’ve learned of a few tips that we feel can benefit everyone considering an upgrade.
Start by considering the areas of your kitchen people use the most – the refrigerator, stove, and sink. It’s often referred to as “the triangle” by kitchen design experts, as you’ll spend most of your time in the kitchen moving between these three points.
Counters are a very close second place, so be sure to think about those, too. If you start out by neglecting the counter space, you could end up regretting it as the remodel progresses. By thinking of large, open, functional countertops from the beginning, you’ll also be able to consider how shelving and decorative elements can support both the functionality and beauty of your kitchen. It’s even easier when you’re designing everything together, around the triangle and counter space.
Budgeting for a remodel becomes a lot easier when you’ve taken these steps ahead of time, too. When you know what you absolutely must have, you won’t find yourself regretting the model. Alternatively, the pricetag associated with some higher end features may reveal that they’re not absolute necessities in your dream kitchen. Either way, taking the time to plan everything around the triangle and countertops can help – but we can’t forget two of the most popular elements in any kitchen – the island and the appliances.
PLANNING YOUR KITCHEN REMODEL
Choosing the appliances first will help guarantee you’re able to choose colors and cabinets that accent them well. It can be a lot more difficult to find appliances that match the other choices you’ve made if you choose to do things inthat order. We’ve found that designing kitchens around a white or off-white color simplifies this process – as most appliances are either stainless steel or black, but you may be opting for a more bespoke look.
When it comes to the island, think of how you’ll want to use it – is it meant to be a place where people gather and eat, or a place that aids in cooking? If the space allows, it could potentially be both.
If you’ve started by planning out “the triangle” and counter space, you should easily be able to see where the island can fit to meet your desired functionality. The last thing to consider, though, is the foot traffic into and out of the kitchen. If possible, position the stove in an area that receives less foot traffic to minimize accidents, especially if children are in the home.
With the more utilitarian aspects of your remodel out of the way, you can begin focusing a bit more on some of the decorative elements of your project. The backsplash is a great place to make a statement, and tends to be a focal point in the kitchen – so be sure to explore options here, as it can be the centerpiece that takes a kitchen remodel from good to great.

VLR Homes, LLC
4.7
We have engaged Francisco and VLR Homes 3 times now. From painting the house, remodeling a master bath and constructing a screened in porch area they have responded with quality work at a fair price. When things came up like they always do, VLR had a solution (some panels of 50 year old siding replaced with Tyvek and up to code replacement). Again, at a fair price and done right the first time. Francisco is responsive with the good and the bad news â  straight up and always with a plan. We intend to use VLR in the future for projects large or small.
